Capturing the atmosphere from the immensity and grandeur of the plains to the human mark etched upon it,
Steve's plaintive and expressive palette of light and movement draw both from his past and from the present day of all that surrounds him. He received an MFA from U of Regina in Canada in 1990. After finishing his formal training in 1990 Steve explored formalist metal sculpture, which eventually evolved into his love of drawing and the immediacy of oil on canvas.
Steve's paintings can be found in numerous collections throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
" I'm a sky watcher. I'm a curious onlooker. I study light and the optics of illusion. I love the art of storytelling. I'm drawn to the mystery of our own existence somewhere in between. My impressions are presented in oil on canvas"
