Carol received a BFA in printmaking from Penn State and an MFA in painting from Queens College in NY. Her teaching jobs include Syracuse University, the University of Maryland Baltimore County and Albright College, where she taught Painting and Drawing.
She returned to southwestern Pennsylvania twenty years ago and has been inspired by the simplicity of this landscape within a few miles of her home. She is drawn to the light, the scale, the changing colors of the dramatic skies and the slow and intentional movement of the cows that populate it.
"There is a lifetime's worth of ideas and images to paint, all within a few miles of my home. I feel very fortunate to be able to spend my time trying to capture my surroundings in paint. The landscape has a strength and majesty that inspires me daily. "
