Jerry is a watercolorist, enthralled and under the spell of the medium. Most people in Lancaster would remember Jerry as The Monkey Man.
For 52 years, he traveled the nation, performing in theaters, schools, churches, fairs, festivals, and community events as a variety entertainer, and for 30 of those years, he had a little capuchin monkey who was his performance partner—hence the moniker.
When Covid hit and events got cancelled, Jerry thought maybe 52 years is enough and retired and stumbled into a late-life career change.
He decided to take up serious water color painting. Devoting three hours each day to the studio, in the hopes that he could create paintings that were worthy as Christmas presents for family. That’s how the whole thing got started.
