“Kimiko Benjamin is a kirié artist who brings the enchanting world of Japanese paper-cutting to life. Using an X-ACTO knife, she carefully cuts intricate designs into black paper, adding a touch of magic with the delicate hues of washi origami.

Originally from Japan, Kimiko has happily resided in Philadelphia, PA, for the last 15 years. Her artwork mainly focuses on the charming buildings and doorways of Philadelphia and Lancaster, PA. Paying close attention to the details of architectural designs and color gradations, she meticulously recreates them in her kirié artwork.

Sharing her passion, Kimiko once facilitated the kirié club at Rikumo, an innovative Japanese “concept store” in Ardmore, PA. There, she guided enthusiasts on a journey of creativity and self-expression through the ancient art of Japanese paper-cutting.”
