"Growing up in the rural, Lancaster county I have always been drawn to nature and especially wildlife. As a result, I gravitate towards animals and landscape as my primary vehicle for experimenting with textures, unconventional color choices, composition, line, and rhythm in the medium of watercolor.
No matter the subject matter my focus is to present it in a way that captures its character but also to present the subject in a new unusual and exciting way.
My technique and approach is equal parts planned and random. I always have a general idea of where I want things to go but I also enjoy allowing for the wonderful unexpected results that watercolor provides.
There is not much in my household cabinets that I have not tried tossing into my paintings: various types of salt, alcohols, rubber cement, plastic wrap, newsprint etc. My hope is that viewers appreciate these layers of texture in my work as being unique and unexpected."

Adam currently teaches Art at Garden Spot High School where he is also head wrestling coach. He received his M.A.Ed from Millersville University. Wildlife, Landscapes and nature inspire his exploration of color, texture and composition.
