Susan Gottlieb’s opening was a smash! One of the busiest September First Friday’s that we have seen. This year Susan traveled to Cuba, India, and Italy for inspiration on her latest show. We had a little rain on First Friday evening but that didn’t damper the crowd, which flocked out to see Stuart Dunkel and his infamous mice paintings! He received a great write up in the paper and everyone loved meeting him, with his t-shirt that said, “Saving the World one Mouse at a time!”. Our highlight wall had a mix of artists this month, including Aubrey Brown (pictured) and we also celebrated our Red Raven Scholarship winner, Ryan O’Connell on our emerging artist wall.
We had so much fun with our “surprise” party for our own Robert Andriulli! He recently retired from Millersville University, where he taught painting for many years. Robert has had a huge impact on so many of our artists. Many of the group shown above have studied under him. We wish him the best, and with all of this free time, are expecting lots of new paintings to be pouring in to Red Raven !!!!
June brought the first “Perfect Weather” First Friday of the season! Downtown Lancaster was packed with artists and art lovers combined. Summer is officially here! We featured Jean Zaun, Highlighted Glass Artist Carlee Seele, and our Emerging Artist is Scholarship Winner Sydney Shuba.
